Thousand Trails Orlando

It poured last night for an hour which made it pretty messy in the overflow area at Bee's. That sand sticks to everything.

We were up early this morning getting things swept off and packed up. We filled up our propane tanks and were on the road by about 11:45 am. It is only 20 miles or so to Thousand Trails. We arrived just after noon and got the last available 50 amp site in the park. Fifty amp electrical allows us to run everything we have in the motorhome at the same time if needed. Thirty amp means we would have to shut some stuff off when using the microwave and we would only be able to run one A/C unit at at time. We are in site D-54. D loop is the only treed loop in the park. The site is large enough for us to pitch our tent if we need to while Chris's daughter and boyfriend are here. We had no sooner pulled in than the skies opened up once again. It poured for about 20 minutes. We had managed to get the levellers down and our slides out but still hadn't connected sewer, water and electricity when the rain started. We simply started the generator and used the microwave to warm up some lunch for ourselves while waiting for the rain to stop. It did soon enough and I ducked outside to finish our set up.

There are still quite a few empty spots in D loop. We walked around with Buddy this afternoon and saw quite a few Canadian plates here as well. Looks like pickleball will have to wait until the courts dry out. As you can see, Buddy was exhausted after his walk.

I managed to snap a picture of a very interesting tree we saw down by the lake here at Thousand Trails. There is a face carved into the tree trunk on the left. Not sure what the story behind this tree is though. Might require a little detective work.

So we'll likely swim in the morning as Orlando only seems to have pickleball on in the evenings. Peace River used to have pickleball on at 9 am and 4 pm. Then it is off to Orlando International Airport to pick up our guests.
