We left TT Orlando just after 9 am on Feb 3rd and headed south on Hwy 27. Our first stop on the way south was in Lake Wales, where we had made arrangements with J+J Sunshade to stop and pick up the new two pieces sunshade for our main awning. We arrived there at 11 am and were met at the gate. A quick credit card transaction and we were on our way again.
We stopped in Zolfo Springs at the BP station for fuel and then pulled into TT Peace River just after noon. The park was full and as is customary during peak season, we were directed to a non sewer site. We chose site C-52. Seemed like we were in the Canadian corner of the park too, as we had a couple from Guelph, Ontario on one side of us, a couple from Montreal on the other and another couple from British Columbia just a few doors down toward the river. We could have gotten a sewer site later in the day but decided to hang off until this afternoon's sewer site draw in hopes of getting a better site.
We managed to get set up in plenty of time for us to get in some pickleball matches which began at 4 pm. Lots of friendly conversation and matches with no one getting too serious about winning.
We got home in time to catch most of Super Bowl XLII on the local FOX channel. Chris predicted NY would win and win they did! We went for a stroll during intermission and saw one site had a a big projection screen TV set up outside with about 20 NY fans sitting around it. The best part for us was the commercials, which we never seem to see in Canada because of the local commercials run instead. Some of them were a hoot.
