Local Pickleball Tourney

We woke up to cooler temps yesterday morning. In fact, we had to even turn on the heat for about 5 minutes just to take the chill off. Thought we were back in Ottawa for a minute.......not! Just kidding......

The local pickleball group here at TT Peace River held a mini tourney on Monday morning. Most of the locals played in the fun tourney. There was a guys and gals side with about 25 players in all. We all played 5 doubles matches, each match with a different doubles partner that was drawn at random. We each won 3 matches and lost two which was not enough to place in the top three, but we had great time. It was quite windy as well making it difficult to serve at times because of the swirling wind. We had to hit the ball as hard as possible just to get it over the net when serving into the wind. The other side just had to tap the ball and it took off. It was cool to start off, but it warmed up quickly enough under a bright blue sky.

We are off to a communal breakfast that Travis and Dee Dee are putting on for the pickleball crowd this morning at their campsite. Then Chris and Jane are heading off to Lakeland for a little shopping while Buddy and I head over for some pickleball. Expecting rain and high winds this afternoon.
