It absolutely poured over night Tuesday. We were parked in one of the lower "meadow" sites, as all new arrivals are required to do while awaiting a vacant sewer site. Lots of people just stay in the meadow area because it is close to Peace River and also the farthest distance from Hwy 17 which runs past the preserve. We awoke to alot of standing water but nothing unbearable.
Our intentions were to look for a sewer site at the daily 1 pm assignment next to the ranger station.
We played pickleball Wednesday morning. Some of the same old faces are here, but some are leaving soon as well as most people seem to come and go between here and Orlando every two weeks or so. We played pickleball until noon and then grabbed a list of the vacant sewer sites.
We cycled around the park, checking which sites were suitable for our needs. We had 3-4 in mind but they all went right away at the meeting. When our name came up, we chose site E-26, sight unseen. It was a late addition to the vacant list and is just down the road from our English friends. Turns out the site is the best one we have ever had at Peace River. Our Bounder levelled very easily and we have great satellite reception. We are reasonbly far from the highway, so no traffic noise, and close to the nature trail as well.
So we are all set.
