More Mer Bleu

A few more pictures from Mer Bleu Bog the other day. I went by myself in the morning while Chris slept after her last night shift. Then we both went back in the afternoon to have another walk around. Rain was threatening all day as evidenced in this cloud formation but it never materialized over the bog, at least not while we were wandering around.
The bog is located on Ridge Rd just off Anderson Rd at parking lot P22. There is lots of parking available. A wooden boardwalk leads visitors through the bog with information signs posted at regular intervals.

Interesting cloud formations and reflections from the boardwalk looking out over the bog.

Wild blueberries were still in bloom but signs warn against picking any berries inside the bog.

A closeup of a few water lilies taken from the boardwalk.

This is an excellent place to spend a few quiet hours or even a morning or afternoon. The bog is open until 9 pm daily. There is a barricade some distance back from the actual parking lot that can be stretched across the road during quiet hours, however it is unclear whether or not it is actually used.
