Gatineau Park

Chris's short change today....she starts nights tonight. Weather looked promising today, so we headed up to P16 in Gatineau Park to go for a hike in the woods. We parked at P16 just off Pine Rd at the north end of Hwy 5 and hiked the trail into Herridge Cabin, a distance of about 4 km. Chris got to try out her new back pack and trekking poles. Both passed with flying colours. Looks like the weather will be wet for the next few days as the remnants of Hurricane Ike roll through Ontario and Quebec beginning tomorrow.

Stopped to have our snack at Herridge and then hiked back to our vehicle. We saw quite a few people on the trails today, most on mountain bikes. Leaves turning slowly.

We had an email from our RVing friends Ken and Faye today. They are at Chesapeake Bay, VA right now. We are getting things ready for our trip south beginning October 30th and have decided to stop in to see them for a couple of nights on the way down to Florida. Our Bounder comes out of storage at the end of the month and goes in for service early in October. We'll have a few weeks to make sure all is in proper working order before we hit the road. Can't wait!
