We spent an hour in Wakefield this morning and went to see the covered bridge seen here. It was completely rebuilt in 1997 and is a well known tourism landmark.

Then we were off to old Chelsea for a quick stop at the local bakery before visiting the Mackenzie King Estate located in Gatineau Park. Parking cost $8.00 which also gives you a day parking pass at any of the beaches in Gatineau Park. King was Prime Minister of Canada for almost 22 years beginning in 1921. Upon his death in 1950, he gave his estate to the people of Canada. The estate is impressive in size and contains cottages, boathouse, gardens, walking trails and a Tearoom among other things. We spent almost 3 hours wandering the grounds and exploring the many trails. Bridal Veil Falls is located at the south end of the property. I set up the camera and tripod to capture the view seen below. There wasn't much water flowing at this time of year but I expect things are much different in the spring.
