Little things that happen on the road.......

Mail delivery is always a big deal while RVing. Some parks allow mail delivery directly to the park. Many offer this service at no charge. However, Orlando was charging for this service. I paid $4 for two envelopes we received last week. Talk to any of the residents and they all have something to say about these costs.

Well, we missed the manager's meeting on Saturday, but have been told that mail delivery will now be a thing of the past. The park had been charging the outrageous amount of $2 per received mail item, didn't matter whether it was an envelope or a package. Apparently, someone challenged the right for the park to charge for mail delivery, so the service has been discontinued. Not sure whether US Postal Service stepped in or not. Special delivery packages from UPS, Fedex, etc will still be accepted. Personally, I would have accepted a flat $2 fee to pick up any mail on a given day. I thought the $2 per item was definitely over the top though. We stayed at Peace River in December and there is no charge for mail delivery at all. So there is no consistency from park to park either.
